Ornua Foods

Ornua – The Home of Irish Dairy, is an agri-food commercial co-operative which markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its members, Ireland’s dairy processors and in turn the Irish dairy farmer. Ornua has been present in the UK for over 50 years and today is one of the leading suppliers of dairy products in the UK.

The business was very dependent on paper processes across their site in regards to their contractor management and authorisation of work permits. Ornua Foods were keen to explore a solution to remove their paper-based process and change how they manage contractors and visitors attending site.

Through viewing the Gatehouse Contractor Management product video, it helped identify their need to improve and standardise their contractor compliance process, specifically around the requirements of; Contractor On-boarding, Health and Safety Questionnaires, Insurance, Expiries and Renewals, Contractor Control, Visitor and Contractor Inductions and Assessments, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Tracking of Permit to Work.

Target have provided Ornua Foods with their own Gatehouse Visitor and Contractor Management System, to enable the business to gain control and create a standard internal process to manage the onboarding and issuing of permits to work when Contractors and Visitors attend site. The flexibility to configure Gatehouse to Ornua’s workflows has enabled the business to have a collaborative system that meets the requirements of multiple departments and buildings, as well as identify gaps where the system could further improve their compliance workflows and internal communications.
