Helping shape the future with work placement

The Directors at Target are keen on helping those with aspirations in the industry to gain real working experience. Last month the team at Target had an extra pair of helping hands in the office from young and enthusiastic student, Jake Eyre.
A keen and aspiring software developer himself, Jake from St Pius X Catholic High School in South Yorkshire wrote directly to Target to gain his placement over May so he could continue to understand the industry and get real, hands on experience of a typical nine till five job.
The staff at Target showed Jake how different departments of the business worked as part of his work experience placement. At his time at Target Jake was introduced to the different software and business management solutions the company provides to its clients, as well as work with their internal customer relationship management system to get hands on with the importance of data management.
Proving to be a hard working student, Jake was involved in marketing and data management activities, attending internal meetings and experiencing desktop demonstrations with potential clients for sales and customer relations experience.
The team of developers at Target were able to provide Jake with advice on; computer building, what it is like to be a full time software developer and what should be his next step to pursue his career ambitions.
Jake Eyre said, ‘I have felt so welcomed at Target and cannot thank everyone enough for showing me valuable skills that will help my future.’
Managing Director Phil Atkinson stated, ‘Jake has been an absolute pleasure to have in the team and a real help to the day to day running of the office. As an ambitious young man looking to making a career in the software industry we wish him all the best for a successful future. We hope his time at Target was enjoyable yet a valuable experience.’
A professional, hardworking, yet informal and friendly business; the team at Target have a tradition of awarding ‘Post-It Note Medals’ – and as a last day momentum for all his hard work, the company awarded Jake with the ‘Work Experiencer Extraordinaire’ medal!
Pleasure having you Jake!
