Double-digit success in 2020, as Target Information Systems mark their 10-year anniversary.

Since opening its doors in 2010, Target has experienced tremendous growth and success, receiving numerous awards and accreditations, and recognition of innovation and digital transformation in the public and private sector. What started as two men knowing the working world can be made simpler with innovative software solutions, the business has grown into a team that created an award-winning contracts management system delivering more insights into data than ever before, and made various companies overcome health and safety challenge to see a significant return on investment in the first 3 months of using their new software. Target now service both local and national organisations such as; Hermes, Goodwood, Ofsted, The British Library, multiple NHS Trusts and several more.

Target has evolved over the past ten years, not only have they needed to move to a bigger office space three times, the company has brought together a collection of highly experienced professionals who like a challenge and innovate in the world of digital. Knowing the team enables success, Target has committed to invest in people and encourage their internal talent to take on new opportunities through training courses, or consultancy to help further develop skill sets.

In the last ten years, Target have been able to employ one new team member every year, and today they stand as a team of twelve. The business has taken on six university graduates, their first software engineering apprentice and continued to develop the team, enabling them to take on degrees, masters and industry qualifications.

Going back to the founding days of 2010, Phil and Daryl within their first six weeks of starting the business were consulting Coca-Cola Enterprises Wakefield on improving their business management systems and in their next six months they employed a Business Development Manager and their first Senior Software Developer, Shaun; by the end of their first year they had gained six new clients.

Over the next five years Target were delivering business management systems to forty-two clients, including Kier Group, Dorset County Council and Take-Two Interactive Software in the US. Transforming how teams can manage contracts, data, and improve visibility, Accord was launched in 2011 and the first Accord client was Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. The business was also awarded the world’s most recognised quality management standard certification; ISO 9001 Quality Management, while also employing two additional Software Engineers, an Operations Manager, and a Marketing Co-ordinator as they also celebrate completing their 100th project.

In the sixth year, the business saw significant growth for the sixth year in a row and expanded to a team of ten, while increasing turnover by 33% and profit by over 50%. Target grew their team to include two additional Software Engineers, a dedicated Office Manager, and an additional Business Development Manager. Developing further innovative systems, Target launched their Gatehouse systems, to enable compliance within the contractor management process and safeguard the workplace. In the years building to their tenth anniversary Target completed their 200th project and had 100% growth as they gained eighty-five clients by 2020.

Maintaining those early beginnings of Target Information Systems, the software and services and growth within the team, has led to their Senior Software Developer Shaun, to lead its sister company, Targeted Agency; Targeted are a digital engagement solutions agency focusing on enhancing the online customer journey and user experience. Alongside the growth of the business Target are transforming their business as they rebrand and launch three new websites to optimise the Target, Accord and Verature (formerly Gatehouse) brands.

“We’re delighted to celebrate our tenth year of business with an amazing team of people and clients. We are seeing our portfolio grow bigger than ever before. Each system that we create is tailor-made to the client’s wants and specifications and no challenge is too big. We pride ourselves on going into a company, no matter how big or small, that is overrun with excessive amounts of data and creating a management system that works for them.”

Phil Atkinson, Managing Director.

Leading projects with an amazing team of professionals, collaborating with big name clients, celebrating double-digit success and transforming businesses with digital, Target is continuing to be a success story, as they continue to establish themselves as the go-to company for digital change.
